A PORTRAIT OF TORI
The truest words ever expressed on the subject of working was written by the poet from Lebanon, Kahlil Gibran, who warned that work must be preformed with genuine love,or it is a waste of time and energy; that if you cannot work with love,it is better to do nothing until you find such work.
For as Gibran expressed it so beautifully: "Bread baked without love is a bitter bread, that feeds but half man's hunger."
Tori's Work Reflects Her Labour Of Love
Tori's Shop is frequented by people from all over the world, who have found her shop while visiting beautiful Campobello Island.
Many of them have become regular customers and personal friends. Tori has wholesaled her porcelain miniature art jewelry across Canada and her work has been featured in all the major Tourist Information Centers in the province. Her work was also on display at the Maine State Museum.

In Northern Canada, the spectacle of Northern Lights is so electrifying that it holds you in its grip.
Pulsating curtains of translucent colour that skitter across the darkened heavens, and spellbind you with their ethereal light.
To the Inuits, the Northern Lights were signs of yet to be born children,
Illuminating the night sky with their euphoric antics. Showering down bands of
Nature's magnificent paint pallet in rapid array.
And so, as a child, reared in Northern Quebec, these lights became a symbol of creative explorations and the initial development of Tori's Artistic expressions.
She is a musician, writer, and columnist writing for THE LUBEC LIGHT

Tori's Celtic genes drew her to searching for space near the ocean, and it was in this magical place that she developed a loyal clientele from the local and tourism markets.
Tori is grateful to the many visitors who frequent her shop annually and who support her work and the crafts of other artisans represented in the shop. The preservation of our Canadian culture is an important goal as the competition regarding labour rates from outside influences and foreign markets greatly diminish the opportunities for Canadian Craftsmen to make a living at doing what they do best.
Tori is currently working on a book which she hopes will help people all over the world.
A member of the choir of historic St. Anne's Church on the Island, she is also the scretary for the Tourism Development Committee and President of the Campobello Island Tourism Association. |
